Dear Friends,   Now we're in the middle of August, Farmer John has turned 50 and the sun is finally out.  There is plenty of beans for canning and starting the weekend of the 20th we should be able to open up all the vegetable U-Pick.  Available for picking will be tomatoes, peppers, beans, blueberries, and maybe some more strawberries.  When you call to check there might be some additions.  Please remember to bring your own boxes (we don't have any). The guys have finished combining grass seed and wheat, and continue to pick for the stand; blueberries, strawberries, lettuces, swiss chard, crookneck squash, zucchini, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, and cut flowers.  From our local farmers we've been able to get  William Pride Apple and Puala Red Apple, blackberries, peaches, and cherries (which are almost done).  Come on by and enjoy a fresh strawberry shortcake or milkshake.  See you when you come out.  Mary Beth & Farmer John Phone:  503-474-3514   www.farmerjohnsproduce.com
